Welcome!

Dear Colleagues,
We have the pleasure to invite you to the fifth EFPP conference of all three Sections: adult, child and adolescent and group. In our time of continuous changes it is of great importance to strengthen the role of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, especially in the Public Sector. As hosts our main goal is to ensure a setting for professional exchanges of the rich and varied experiences you all have.

We have received a very impressive amount of abstracts focusing on a variety of themes linked to the theme of the conference. The three main presentations connected to the three sections, will provide a fruitful basis for interesting and mutually stimulating discussions. We are looking forward to seeing you in Stockholm.

Furthermore, we like to call upon the fact that the conference provides an excellent opportunity to combine your stay with an exploration of our country. Stockholm is at its best during the summer and Sweden is a good country for foreigners in terms of economy, as the Swedish crown is low compared to most other currencies. For further information about Stockholm and Sweden, please visit: www.stoinfo.se  or www.sverigeturism.se.

Conference themes in Workshops, Paper Presentations and Poster Sessions
We have a wide representation of colleagues from different countries which means that workshops, paper presentations and poster sessions will give an opportunity to learn and understand more about theoretical and cultural similarities and differences. We will have themes related to adult, child/adolescent, group as well as couple and family psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

Specific themes that will be discussed and looked upon from different aspects will be for instance:

  • issues concerning professional roles and methods
  • training and supervision in different countries
  • clinical research
  • forensic psychotherapy in our time
  • sexuality and gender identity
  • abuse and addiction
  • trauma and state violence
  • immigration and holocaust
  • infant observation
  • early intervention and psychotherapy
  • psychotherapy and team work
  • transference and counter transference in individual settings, groups and therapeutic institutions.

A detailed list of workshops, paper presentations and poster sessions will be presented in the final programme and on the websites www.efpp.org  alt. www.enigma.se/efpp. We will then ask participants to select preferred workshops or presentations.
